2019 CONFERENCE
Celebrating our 40th Anniversary!
On November 22 and 23, delegates from parents' associations from across British Columbia will meet at the 2019 conference and AGM of the Fédération des parents.
This major event will take place in two locations: the opening night will be held at l’école secondaire Jules-Verne, while the activities on Saturday, November 23, will take place at the Executive Airport Plaza in Richmond.
The annual event promises to be the perfect opportunity for representatives of parents' associations to network with each other -- especially since several Francophone community partners will join our gathering in order to celebrate with us the 40th anniversary of the organization that speaks for Francophone parents in British Columbia!
What to Expect at the Parents' Conference?
The opening night is always an ideal time for delegates to meet and exchange information in a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere. Indeed, it will be a great opportunity for networking among parents from across the province, and as well, for meeting various school and community partners.

During the evening, one B.C. parents’ association will be awarded the Parents’ Association of the Year Award. Also, the prestigious annual Award of Excellence in Early Childhood Education will be given to an educator working in a Francophone preschool centre.
Saturday will be devoted to various presentations, group discussions, and workshops designed to meet the needs of parents involved in parents’ associations. Participants are sure to leave better equipped to pursue their engagement in their school community or preschool centre.
At the conference this year, the Conseil scolaire francophone de la Colombie-Britannique (CSF) will be in the limelight. During a special session, the CSF's new superintendent will introduce the school district's key priorities and objectives for the coming years.
The conference schedule will also allow participants to discuss, in smaller groups, relevant topics related to their role in parents’ associations, and to participate in the themed workshops of their choice.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of the Fédération des parents will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. During this regular meeting, the organi-zation's accomplishments over the past year will be presented, as well as its plan for the next 12 months.
Moreover, three members will be elected to the board of directors, to fill the positions of representatives for the following regions: the Northern Region of the province, the Fraser Valley Region, and the North Vancouver Island Region. Delegates of parents' associations present at the AGM will have the right to vote in these elections; each mandate is for a two-year term.
Every parents' association that is a members of the Fédération des parents is invited to send two delegates to the conference. These delegates will have access to a free childcare service on-site during the conference (advance registration is required).
Delegates from parents’ associations can register now, using the electronic registration form.
(Please note that the conference’s preliminary schedule is available, at the same address.)
