Le papa de Simon

Category: from age 8
Author : Guy de Maupassant
Simon has no dad. Because he lives alone with his mum, and because his family does not resemble his classmates’ families, everyone mocks him at school. The text of this book illustrated by François Roca is adapted from a short story by de Maupassant.
La famille Perdlenord

Category: ages 3 to 5
Authors: Pierrette Dubé and Estelle Bachelard
The Perdlenord family is going on a trip. The museum is beautiful and the tent is fun… but where is the mountain? The hilarious adventures of this zany family will appeal to children 3 years old and older.
Tu peux

Auteure : Élise Gravel
For a change, we now present a small book which is not available at Tire-Lire, but rather online in PDF format; it can be downloaded free from the author’s website. An English version, “Artsy Boys and Smelly Girls,” is also available.
The author and illustrator of this book present it like this: “Here is a free little book for children on the theme of gender stereotypes. In it you will find girls who fart, sensitive boys, funny girls, and boys who take care of small children. (…) You can print it out, read it in class or at home, on an iPad or interactive whiteboard. It’s a gift.”
