PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR
APÉ des Voyageurs
A parents’ association that has distinguished itself by its achievements received the Recognition Award, awarded annually by the Commission nationale de parents francophones (CNPF).
The 2018/2019 award was given to l’Association des parents francophones de Langley, which is the APÉ of l’école des Voyageurs in Langley.
This parents’ association has demonstrated the importance of mobilizing parents in order to maximize the probability of overcoming obstacles, while at the same time fostering closer ties within the school community.
In addition to being enthusiastically involved in organizing activities and events to enrich school and community life, this APÉ also operates a preschool centre that actively participates in the francization of preschoolers and helps recruit students for the school.
Over the past year, this parents' association has faced the challenges of a large civil infrastructure construction project near its small school, while demonstrating calmness and an exemplary spirit of collaboration.
Determined to sound the alarm and to raise the families’ concerns about the children’s safety to the relevant agencies, the parent volunteers selflessly spent many hours and considerable energy making submissions to the Board of Trustees of the Conseil scolaire francophone (CSF). In this regard, the APÉ has distinguished itself with its convincing, well-produced presentations.

Congratulations to l’APÉ des Voyageurs!
