EARLY CHILDHOOD

Fun in French for Parents with Young Children!

Starting in November 2014, new activities offering opportunities to have fun and learn in French will be available to families living in the Port Coquitlam and Rossland areas.

This project is an initiative of the Fédération des parents’ CAFE programming, the “Centres d’appui à la famille et à l’enfance” (family and child support centres). The project is made possible through the financial support of Canadian Heritage. Other regions will soon be added to the list of those that benefit from CAFE programming, later this fall or during the coming winter.

Bouts de chou francophones” in Rossland

Parents with children aged 0-5 years old will be invited to take part in “Bouts de chou francophones,” a program of activities that will take place at l’école des Sept-sommets in Rossland. Through rhymes, stories, and games, the parents and children, accompanied by a resource person, will have the opportunity to talk, have fun, and enjoy happy times in French together.

Papa et moi” in Port Coquitlam

In Port Coquitlam, dads can have fun with their little ones during “Papa et moi” playgroup sessions. On the menu: activities to get you moving, outings in the community, and an atmosphere allowing you to talk with other fathers of young children. These activities, led by a resource person, could also be a good opportunity to provide a few hours of respite for moms!

More details on these activities are available on our website (www.fpfcb.bc.ca), but interested families can also contact the Fédération des parents by phone at 604-736-5056 or 1-800-905-5056, or by e-mail at  info@fpfcb.b.ca.
