PARENTS' ASSOCIATION OF THE YEAR

Tartine et chocolat

For 2015-2016, this prize was awarded to the Société prématernelle et garderie Tartine et chocolat, in Vancouver.

Since its start in 2009, this parents' association, the 2015-2016 recipient of the Commission nationale des parents francophones (CNPF) plaque, has distinguished itself by its quality of service and management, marked by great leadership.

This is an association that never slowed down during board changes, thanks to good succession planning and transfer of files to newly elected members. The association's progress can also be attributed to a stable staff composition. They have even been known to sometimes go all the way to Quebec to hire staff!

Over the years, this group of parents showed that they were very open-minded. The board of directors, as well as the centre’s staff, have never lost sight of the fact that they absolutely must work together and do everything they can to provide the best support and opportunities for the children and families. Similarly, the group has a wonderful ability to cohabitate and share space with their neighbour, the Anne-Hébert Franc départ centre.

This parents' association in the preschool sector cares about important details related to its governance, such as the development of a policy relating to respect for privacy and the principles of confidentiality in the community.

Constantly working with best practices, the association continues its efforts to establish a reliable electronic document management system, and also to create a detailed emergency plan for its preschool centre.

In the photo, we can see Lucie Vallières, President of the Société prématernelle et garderie Tartine et chocolat, receiving the award from Michelle Marsan, Coordinator of the Fédération des parents preschool network.

Our congratulations to Tartine et chocolat!
