This parents’ group managed to revamp its organizational, decision-making, and financial structures to become more transparent and profitable, while at the same time respecting democratic community practices.

 

The SPEEEL, which manages an early childhood centre and an after-school program, increased its capacity, enhanced the quality of its services, and received funding to improve infrastructure. 

 

Thanks to its determination, the Société has succeeded in creating, for the children, an environment that inspires and supports parents in the community.

 

Sarah Holeton and Shelley Sears Vachon, representing the SPEEEL, received the Commission nationale des parents francophones plaque, presented by the President of the Fédération des parents, Marie-Pierre Lavoie.
