A Sugar Shack Evening Brings Together Families in Vancouver

In April, the parents’ associations (APÉs) of l’école Rose-des-vents and l’école des Colibris, both located in Vancouver, jointly held a special sugar shack evening.

People of all ages were invited to this community event that was organized as part of the fundraising efforts for students of these schools.

The program for the evening: barbecue, maple taffy pull, pork and beans, cash bar, raffle, karaoke... and above all, plenty of good spirit!

A small cinema room was set up so that the children could watch a movie while the adults had some fun too.

The event, which began at 6 p.m. on a Friday night, ended late, around 11 p.m., with an improvised dance floor!

It was a huge success, as both a social event and fundraiser.

The two APÉs would like to express their sincere thanks to parent volunteers who worked to organize this sugar shack event, especially Pascal Roy, who generously lent us his commercial space, La Fabrique St-George, for the occasion. Thanks also to our guitarist Dylan Harding, another parent in the community, for his entertainment during the evening!
