There’s a Lot Going on During the Noon Break at Gabrielle-Roy!

To help students burn off some energy, discover new activities, and have fun during the noon break, l’école Gabrielle-Roy, in Surrey, offers its students a range of workshops and activities.

The parents' association (APÉ) of l'école Gabrielle-Roy is pleased to contribute to this programming by funding the purchase of materials as part of its larger initiative to support extracurricular activities.

Every day at the circus school, elementary-school students can juggle, walk a tightrope, or ride a unicycle. Those interested in dancing or gymnastics have access to cheerleading classes three times a week. For students who prefer soccer, the Faly Academy comes to the school twice a week to offer expert training to both elementary and secondary students.

In addition, there are 64 students enrolled in biweekly training for the Sun Run race. Sports tournaments are another popular option for secondary students, as well as table games such as ping-pong and Baby-foot, which are available two days a week.

Of course, the noon break can also be an opportunity to improve one’s academic knowledge. The library is open every day, and specialized teaching aides offer daily academic support to secondary-school students.

Note also that the secondary students can accumulate volunteer hours by supervising the elementary students in certain activities. At Gabrielle-Roy, no-one is ever bored during the noon break!
