ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

A New Strategic Plan

At the 36th annual general meeting of the Fédération des parents, the member associations adopted the Fédération’s strategic plan for the next five years.

The 2015-2020 strategic plan focuses on parents’ association members of the Fédération and also on the parents individually. There are two strategic paths. The first corresponds to welcome and support services for parents. The second corresponds to leadership and the representation of the interests and rights of parents.

In addition, this new plan gives paramount importance to partnership and communication in all the areas of activity of the Fédération des parents. The promotion of the role and mandate of the Fédération des parents, high school students and their parents, and small schools are also among the priorities for the next five years.

The main outcomes targeted in the Fédération des parents strategic plan from now until 2020 are as follows:

  • The Fédération des parents member associations (school and preschool sectors) are equipped for their role according to their needs, and are supported within an efficient and dynamic network.
  • Parents are equipped for their roles as first educators and as the ones with primary responsibility for their children, via access to a diverse range of quality services from the prenatal stage to the post-secondary level.
  • The Fédération des parents is known and recognized everywhere in the province, and its member associations and its partners recognize its leadership and expertise in current topics that affect parents.
  • The Fédération des parents continues to assume its role in representing the interests of parents and member associations, as well as in any claims on their behalf.
