On November 25 and 26, representatives of BC parents' associations will participate in the Fédération des parents 2016 conference and AGM. The event will be held at the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel in Richmond.

In addition to networking at this great annual event, delegates from everywhere in the province can meet with several community partners in an exhibitors' area (Salon des exposants) which will be set up on site.

This Salon des exposants  will allow participants to learn about the activities and services offered by Francophone organizations operating in various sectors, and discover how their community might be able to take advantage of this. 

In addition, youth will be given a place of honour during the 2016 conference. In fact, a partnership has been created with the Conseil jeunesse francophone de la Colombie-Britannique to set up a youth theme for the conference.

The Program in More Detail

The opening night is traditionally an opportunity for parents to exchange information and network with the school and community partners in a relaxed, celebratory atmosphere. During the evening, a BC parents’ association will be awarded the Parents’ Association of the Year Award. Also, the prestigious Award of Excellence in Early Childhood Education will be given to an educator working in a Francophone early childhood centre.

Saturday will begin with a panel of inspired young BC Francophones who come from different backgrounds and different areas of the province. Participants will have the opportunity to ask them questions about what they've always wanted to know about youth and the Francophonie in BC... but have never dared to ask!

During the rest of the day, delegates will be able to take part in workshops designed to meet their needs, so that they can leave the conference better equipped to work within their school community.
