CONSULTATION

Have Your Say on Report Cards

As parents, we want to actively participate in our children's education and be well-informed about their results in school.

As part of updating and modernizing our education system, the Ministry of Education is looking for input from parents to guide the development of an approach to the reporting of results for students in kindergarten to Grade 9, so parents have a better understanding of their child’s progress.*

It's in this context that parents are invited to give their opinion. They can do this by filling out an online survey until February 28, 2017 at 4 p.m., after reading the information on the updating and modernizing our education system webpage.

All of the input that is submitted will be summarized into a report, which will be published in June 2017 and considered by the Ministry and school district leaders as they develop potential models for improved reporting.

Research conducted by the Ministry and the comments from parents, school boards, experts, and teachers will all be considered as the provincial approach to the reporting of results is finalized.
