WORKSHOP
Reflections on Youth and the Francophone Community
Spotlight on the Conseil jeunesse
One of the workshops on Saturday's schedule was proposed by the Conseil jeunesse francophone de la C.-B. It began with a presentation by Conseil jeunesse staff members about their mandate, activities, and projects.
Participants at the workshop discussed the following topics at round tables :
- As a parent, what elements or qualities would I like to see in my child when they reach adulthood?
- How can I encourage my high-school child to get involved (or feel less isolated) within the Francophone community?
- What are my needs, challenges, or concerns as a parent or future parent of a high-school child?
- How can my APÉ focus on the activities of the Conseil jeunesse to help keep high-schoolers in our Francophone community?
The reflections of parents and youth will be particularly useful to the Fédération des parents team in guiding the actions that they intend to carry out for the high-school sector.

With this perspective in mind, parents' associations (APÉs) are invited to participate in a series of conversations meant for parents of high-school students (enrolled in the CSF school in their community). The objective of these conversations is to understand what parents of adolescents are experiencing, by exploring their concerns and needs in a friendly atmosphere of listening and sharing.
This initiative called "Parents du secondaire, c’est un rendez-vous!" is for parents who have a child enrolled in a CSF secondary school program, namely those in Grades 7 to 12. If your APÉ wishes to take part in this, please contact the Fédération des parents as soon as possible at 604-736-5056, or at 1-800-905-5056 (toll free), or by e-mail at info@fpfcb.bc.ca.
