The Annual General Meeting
At the 34th annual general meeting, Acting President Marie-Pierre Lavoie noted that several files and important events had marked the past year.
Ms. Lavoie pointed out that the Fédération was able to foresee the many changes that came, and to prepare accordingly. She also welcomed two new members who have recently joined the ranks of the Fédération: the Société des petits explorateurs de Mer-et-Montagne, formed by parents managing the daycare centre which opened its doors in September in Campbell River, and the Association des parents de l’école Sophie-Morigeau, whose perseverance led to the opening of a new Francophone school in Fernie this year.
Ms. Lavoie concluded her report by thanking parents for their commitment and tireless work in improving the quality of services offered to children in British Columbia.
The annual meeting was also the time for delegates of the member associations of the Fédération to elect representatives for three board member positions; they will sit on the board of directors for the next two years. Ms. Nathalie Tremblay and Mr. Roch Massicotte were re-elected to their board member positions for the Fraser Valley Region and the Northern Vancouver Island Region respectively, while Ms. Marie-Christine Claveau was elected as a representative for the Northern Region of the province.
