OPENING EVENING

An Evening of Celebrating and Networking

Delegates of member associations, as well as several community partners, gathered in a festive and friendly atmosphere at the reception opening this 36th Annual Conference.

The evening started with an icebreaker activity designed to foster networking among participants. This allowed the participants, who had come from 22 communities across British Columbia, to discuss their realities, successes, and challenges.

The President of the Fédération des parents, Marie-Pierre Lavoie, officially opened the conference. Her introductory remarks were followed by the presentation of the Parents’ Association of the Year Award and the Award of Excellence in Early Childhood Education (see our articles on these topics)

In addition, as in past years, certificates of recognition were presented to highlight the commitment and achievements of parents who were named “Volunteer of the Year” in their school communities.

In summary, it was a pleasant evening that set the tone for a weekend of networking and exchanging information!
