PORTRAIT OF A PARENT

Anny Goodman, New Representative for the Fraser Valley

I was born in Montréal and moved at the age of 12 to Toronto, where I continued my studies in French. I’ve lived in British Columbia since 2001.

I have two children: a girl who is in Grade 2 at l’école des Pionniers-de-Maillardville, in Port Coquitlam, and a boy who will start kindergarten there next September.

As soon as my daughter entered kindergarten, I started to get involved in the Francophone community. When I decided to run for office to represent my region, the Fraser Valley, on the Board of Directors of the Fédération des parents, it was because I wanted to contribute to the cause of Francophone education in our province.

I’m happy that this commitment gives me the chance to build relationships with my community, and to show my children how important the Francophone culture and their education are to me.
